The Pell City School System Kindergarten registration will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at each elementary school in the system. A child whose 5th birthday is on or before September 1, 2010 shall be entitled, based on age, to public kindergarten admission.
Registration is vital to the system in making preparations for the school program for next year. Parents are requested to notify any friends or relatives who will be affected by this registration. This also will include any child with special needs who would require special education services.
All children enrolling in the Pell City School System will be required to register and attend the school that serves the attendance zone in which they reside.
WE WILL NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS.
The following items must be brought by the parent to enroll a child on April 27, 2010.
•1. Original copy of birth certificate.
•2. Original social security card.
•3. Certificate of immunization (blue slip). All shots must be current in order to register. Contact your Doctor or Health Department (338-3357) prior to registration.
•4. Proof of residence (a current utility bill - electric or water) showing the student's parents(s)/guardian(s)/custodian(s) by name and street address or a Proof of Residency Affidavit (filled out at Central Office).
•5. A court ordered guardianship or custodial papers (if applicable).
WE CANNOT ACCEPT A DRIVER'S LICENSE OR PERSONALIZED CHECK AS VERIFICATION.
Parents will not be allowed to enroll their children without all of these items. It is very important for the parents to have the items needed to register their child, so they can be placed in a class and allowed to start school in August. Students will not be placed on a class roster until all items have been received by the school. All of these items need to be on file for a child to start school.
ONLY parents or legal guardians can register children.
